Mr. Monroe Strickland, age 84 of 512 Bailey Rd. Fairmont, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. A graveside service will be held Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Floyd Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont with Revs. Tim Tyner and L.F. Hatchell officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. He was born October 29, 1929 in Robeson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Mattie Strickland; and his wife, Lillian Caulder Strickland. He is survived by two sons, Jerry Strickland and wife Barbara of Fairmont and Bishop Bobby Strickland and wife Debra of Florence, SC; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
