Obituary

Monique Marguerite Taylor met her beloved Lord and Savior on Friday, February 11, 2022. Monique led a beautiful life, perfectly woven into God's tapestry of time. She was born outside of Paris, France, and experienced a childhood full of laughter, love, and family. Then as a war bride, Monique came to Robeson County, NC in 1946, where she and Delbert began their own family and were later reunited with Monique's cherished parents after they moved from France to North Carolina.  "Monnie" was the soft smile at the Columbus County Tax Office until her retirement at age 73.
She was a precious daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Monique's easy manner and kindness were seen in every aspect of her life. She fiercely loved her family, children, the United States Military troops, and animals. This was demonstrated with her support, prayers, and often with a warm hug and gentle words. Monique's faith and passion for sharing God's goodness were in every conversation she spoke and letter she wrote.

Monique is survived by two daughters, Christine Carter (Marty) and Sylvia Richardson (Wayne Bridgers); grandchildren, Danielle Adkins, Stephanie Carter, and Christopher Brisson (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Caleb and Penelope Adkins and Dylan and Kenley Brisson; sister, Liliane Keller and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Madeline and Fernand Marguerite, and her husband, Delbert Taylor.

A private graveside service is being officiated by Pastor Dodd, from Antioch Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 16, 2022.

The family would like to sincerely thank all involved in Monique's healthcare. Monique loved and valued them.
