Monica Gonzales Allen, age 40, of Lumberton, NC died on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on July 29, 1971 to the late J.W. Chavis and Dollie Locklear Chavis. She worked as a supervisor for International Bakeries.

She is preceded in death by her father, J.W. Chavis; two aunts, Ida Carter and Elizabeth Locklear; and grandparents, Rev. Luther J. Locklear and Helen Locklear.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her mother, Dollie Locklear Chavis of the home; her husband, Mark Allen of Lumberton; two sons, ??DJ? Dominique Gonzales and ??AJ? Amadeus Jade Gonzales both of the home; and special loved ones, Cruz Locklear and Wanda Gilchrist.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Jack Murray and Rev. Tony Miller officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anna Cemetery in Pembroke.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 29, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.
