Mrs. Monette Atkinson Singletary, 94, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on October 27, 1927 to the late Leo & Janie Culbreth Atkinson.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Singletary; two brothers, Max Atkinson (Teeney) and Hiram Atkinson (Shirley); two sisters, Rucelle Rhodes (Lennox) and Nora Younger.

She is survived by a nephew, Jimmy Rhodes (Kitty); two nieces, Lynn Beverly (Tom) and Michelle Rolf (Dan); and three great-nephews: Chris Rhodes, David Beverly, and Tommy Beverly.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC with Rev. David Anderson officiating.
