Mr. Mickey Herbert Freeman, age 58, of Lumberton, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. He was born in Robeson County on November 22, 1954. He worked twenty-seven years in the Public Schools of Robeson County as a computer technician. Mr. Freeman was an active member of Hog Swamp Baptist Church where he served in many capacities and was Chairman of the Board of Deacons. He was an avid fisherman and will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his father, Pete Freeman and his brother, Terry Freeman. Mr. Freeman leaves to cherish his memories with his mother, Letha Freeman of Fairmont; his wife, Jackie A. Freeman, of the home; his son, Bryan Freeman and fiancée, Kellie Spaulding, both of Fairmont; two daughters, Reneé Collins and husband, Adam of Fairmont and Amanda Burns and husband, Greyson of St. Pauls; three brothers, Harold Taylor and wife Vicki of Bladenboro, Jimmy Lynn Freeman and wife, Donna of Orrum and Richard Earl Freeman and wife, Vicky of Fairmont; three grandsons, Jordan Collins, Trent Collins and Bradley Collins; a granddaughter, Christian Rhyne and several special nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 3:00PM at Hog Swamp Baptist Church, 3866 Wire Grass Road, Lumberton with Rev. Larry Davis officiating.
