Mr. Michael Eugene Haney, age 60, died Friday, May 3, 2013 at Southeastern Health of Lumberton. He was born in Sampson County on March 5, 1953 to the late Hampton Haney and the late Aleen Lockamy Haney. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and he was formerly employed at Quickie Manufacturing Company. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Haney. He is survived by his wife, Margie Mauney Haney, of the home; his son, Michael D. Haney, of Wake Forest; his brother, Ricky Haney and wife, Maria, of Fuquay-Varina; and two sisters, Patricia Edge and husband, Buddy, of Roseboro and Joan Wells and husband, Jeff, of Melbourne, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Gibson Cancer Center, 1200 Pine Run Drive, Lumberton, NC 28358.
