Michael Gurnice Britt of Lumberton, 55, of Orrum, NC died on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 16, 1953 in Columbus County, NC to Gurnice Britt and Minnie Anna Willamson Britt.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Britt White.

Mr. Britt is survived by his parents; his wife, Betty G. Britt of the home; a special daughter, Jenny Grimsley Smith and husband, Kenny of Fairmont; two sisters, Frances B. Scott and husband, Bill of Lakeview, SC and Sheila B. Heller of Raleigh, NC and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, July 24, 2009 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton and other times at the home on 4286 South Creek Road, Orrum, NC.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Princess Ann Lumber River State Park at 11:00 AM with Rev. Anthony Hardin officiating.
