Obituary

Michael Wayne Franklin, 68, of Lumberton, NC, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2026. He was born in Robeson County to the late Broadus and Mary Elizabeth Franklin.

Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He worked for many years as a mechanic at Pro-Tire and took great pride in providing for his family. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and watching football, especially cheering for his beloved Dallas Cowboys.

Above all, Michael loved his family. His greatest joy was the time he shared with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. He leaves behind memories that will forever be treasured—the sound of his voice, his laughter, his stories, his love, and all the little moments that made him who he was.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Franklin; his sons, Michael Wayne Franklin II, Charles Henry Franklin, and Seth Jenkins Jr.; grandchildren, Ny'merica Daniels and Alexandria Jenkins; and great-grandson, Nykedyn Carter. He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Ann Wicker (Donnie) of Grays Creek, NC, and brother, Larry Scarborough (Nancy) of Lumberton, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Edward Franklin.

Forever Loved
To his wife, he was her love and lifelong companion.
To his children, he was their father and a part of who they are.
To his grandchildren, he was their beloved Pawpaw.
To his great-grandson, he will always be a part of his family's story.

Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we are grateful for every moment we were blessed to share with him. His place in our family can never be filled, and his love can never be replaced.

We love you, Michael.
We will miss you every day.
Until we meet again, rest peacefully.

Forever in our hearts,
Your Wife, Children, Grandchildren & Great-Grandson
