Mr. Montgomery "M.G." Evans, Jr. (also known as "Man"), age 84, of Fairmont, NC, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born January 17, 1935 in Robeson County to the late Montgomery Evans, Sr. and the late Mary Ivey Evans.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his wife, Etta Mae Britt Evans; one daughter, Etta Dean Boggs; two brothers, Paul Evans and Hal Evans; and five sisters: Gladys Ford, Louise Sealey, Edna "Tinnie" Earl Loper, Grace Rogers, and Bobby Jean Evans.

He is survived by one daughter, Darlene Evans Dixon and husband David of the home; one brother, Jimmy Ray Evans of Lake View, SC; two sisters, Elizabeth "Lib" Lupo of Lake View, SC and Lyzett Strickland of Fairmont, NC; three grandchildren: Tiffany Lewis and husband Sean, MeKaylah Locklear, and Rebecca Gardner and husband Alex; four great grandchildren: Mason Godfrey, Skylar Gardner, Kaidyn Lewis, and Tynslei Lewis; and two step-grandchildren, Chris Lockley and Courtney Lockley.

A time of visitation will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2020, from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Funeral Services, 1549 Marion Stage Road in Fairmont.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at 3:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. Charles Dudley officiating. Burial will follow at Evans Family Cemetery in Fairmont.
