Meta Faye Frink Floyd, age 90, of Fairmont, NC died August 23, 2009 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, NC. She was born June 27, 1919 in Bladen County, NC to Spurgeon Frink and Maude Kelly Frink.

Mrs. Floyd served as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army as a nurse in World War II, worked with the American Red Cross, Wesley Pines Nursing Center, Southeastern Regional Medical Center and the North Carolina Cancer Institute.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Price \\"Bill\\" Floyd and two sisters, Kathleen Sullivan and Nan Kennedy.

Mrs. Floyd is survived by two sons, William Lynn Floyd and Max Spurgeon Floyd both of Fairmont, NC; one daughter, Amanda Floyd Brewer of Orrum, NC; three brothers, Worth Frink of Black Mountain, NC, Jabe Frink and Bernard Frink both of Bladenboro, NC; six granchildren and one great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Bethesda Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Perry and Rev. Steve Johnson officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services, 1549 Marion Stage Road in Fairmont.
