Mrs. Maxine Floyd Freeman, age 81, of Lumberton, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011 in Lumberton. She was born in Columbus County on August 17, 1930 to the late James Clarence Floyd, Sr. and Rosa Beulah West Floyd. She was an employee with Equifax and Credit Bureau for 32 years prior to her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bernice Leroy Freeman, Sr.

Mrs. Freeman is survived by a son, Bernie Freeman and wife, Dianne of Lumberton, NC; two sisters, Opal Crowell of Matthews, NC and Linda Small of Lumberton, NC and three grandchildren, Josh Freeman, Jonathan Oliver and Joseph Oliver.

A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at 3:00PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Larry Davis and Rev. Ed Wilcox officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.
