Mrs. Mavis Pamela Malone Strickland, 79, of Lumberton, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Greenbrier Retirement Home in Fairmont. She was born on November 8, 1938 in Robeson County to the late Charlie J. Malone and the late Velva Miller Malone. She was formerly employed in the retail business.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dennis A. Strickland, and a sister, Elsie Bridgeman.

She is survived by her son, Jimmie McVicker and wife Jennifer of Florence, SC; one grandson, Jacob Lee McVicker of Florence, SC; and one sister, Joyce Garrison of Murfreesboro, NC.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 20, 2018, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton and at other times at the home of Rex and Wanda Caulder, 1105 Byrd Avenue in Lumberton.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at 3:00 PM at Ten Mile Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Harrell officiating.
