Maurice Eugene Britt, 92, of Lumberton, died June 20, 2021, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve and he was also a fireman for City of Lumberton for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Britt, and stepmother, Frances Britt; his mother, Hattie Sellers Britt; his wife, Shirley Barnes Britt; a son, Jeffrey Oliver Britt; a brother, A.J. Britt; and two sisters, Elma and Zelma Britt.

Surviving are two daughters, Julie Britt of Alexandria, VA and Belinda B. Locklear (Patrick) of Lumberton; two grandchildren, Ashley Holmes (Rex) and Makaila Chyane Locklear; and a great-grandchild, Jaxton Oliver Holmes.

The visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at East Lumberton Baptist Church. Following the visitation, a funeral will be at 3:00 PM with Pastor Mike Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton.
