Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Powers Waddell, age 78, of Lumberton, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Robeson County on February 7, 1936 to the late Ernest Powers and the late Annie Jane Powers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann and three sisters, Margaret Watts, Carrie Leppenberg and Maxine Taylor. She leaves to cherish her memories with her husband, Wilbur "Buddy" Waddell, of the home; a daughter, Linda Wilkins and husband, James of Lumberton; a son, Ronnie Waddell and wife, Treva Kay of Lumberton; her grandchildren, David and Lori Taylor of Destin, FL, Steve and Frankie Taylor, Sharon Waddell and Ronald Waddell, all of Lumberton; her great-grandchildren, Joanna Grace Taylor, Kenan Alexander Taylor, Tiera Waddell, Kaylee Waddell and Kaitlyn Waddell, all of Lumberton and a very special friend, Doris Gore of Lumberton. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 3:00PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jamie Watts officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.
