Mary Lou Byrd Thompkins, age 79, of Lumberton, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012. She was born on January 4, 1933 in Robeson County to the late Roy Byrd and the late Dessie Rhodes Byrd. She was previously employed as a clerk at PWC Power Company.

Mrs. Thompkins is survived by her daughter, Kay S. Faulk and husband, Sandy, of Fairmont; her brother, Edward Byrd and wife, Carol, of Newland, NC; two grandchildren, Amy Inman and Stephanie Collins; and one great-grandchild, Madison McLaurin.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Meadowbrook Cemetery. Visitation will follow services at the cemetery.
