Mrs. Mary Lois Bell Sampson, age 83, 0f Lumberton, NC, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, NC. She was born in Robeson County on October 11, 1935, to the late Freeman Smith and the late Gussie Bell Smith.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Sampson; two sons, Dennis Ray Sampson and Gregory Sampson; and one brother, Clarence "PeeWee" Smith.

She is survived by one son, Donnie Sampson of the home; three daughters, Tammy K. Jacobs and husband Dalton of Lumberton, Wanda Gail Locklear and husband Larry of Pembroke, and Pocolia Lynn Sampson of the home; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, James Arthur Smith of Lumberton; and one sister, Annie Smith Chavis of Lumberton.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 8, 2019, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 9, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Deep Branch Cemetery.
