Mary Belle Pittman Edmund, 92, of 3712 Hillcrest Drive died Friday, June 5, 2009 at the Southeastern Hospice House. Born in Robeson County, she was the daughter of the late Archie Pittman and Bertie Hedgepeth Pittman. Mrs. Edmund was the widow of Roy Lee Edmund. She was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Gene Edmund of Mt. Royal, New Jersey; a daughter, Nancy Carol Cox of Lumberton; grandchildren, Jeannie Locklear, Terry Prevatte, Wanda Prevatte, Kay Calcutt, Dolly Blakely, Susan Tweedie, Mark Prevatte, Paul Prevatte, Carol Lynn Bodiford, Frankie Cox, Tommy Edmund, Gene Edmund and Theresa Edmund; 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Edmund was preceded in death by her daughters, Virginia Edmund Thomas and Joyce Ann Prevatte.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 8, 2008 at 3PM in the Hyde Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Harrell officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7PM to 9PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southeastern Hospice House 1100 Pine Run Drive Lumberton, NC 28358.
