Mary Frances Jacobs Brooks Hunt, age 74, of Lumberton, NC died on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County, NC on March 6, 1936 to Luther Edmond and Effie Barton Jacobs. She worked as a seamstress for Jasper Textile.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Barver Dean Hunt; her former husband, Wilford Brooks; one daughter, Betty Ruth Lowery; one grandson, Virgil Lowery; one great-grandson, Joseph Brooks; three brothers, Johnny Jacobs, Joseph Jones and Wilson Jacobs; and two sisters, LouEllen McMillan and Christine Chavis.

Mrs. Hunt is survived by three sons, Early \\"Elrod\\" Jones, Ronnie Brooks and friend, Delores Locklear and Stephen Brooks and wife, Betty Rose all of Lumberton, NC; four daughters, Susan Bullard and husband Lewis of Lumberton, NC, Jackie Grimsley and husband Frank of Lumberton, NC, Ann Oxendine and husband Lee Ertle of High Point, NC and Nancy Cardwell and husband Mike of Lumberton, NC; three brothers, Luther Edward Jacobs, R.C. Jacobs and Neil Junior Jones all of Lumberton, NC; three sisters, Carrie Jones of Lumberton, NC, Dovie Oxendine of St. Pauls, NC and Vashtie Morgan of St. Pauls. NC; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and one great-great granchild.


A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Smyrna Baptist Church with Rev. John David Hunt and Rev. Carl Pevia officiating. Burial will follow at Robeson Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, April 27, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Smyrna Baptist Church.
