Mary Lee Jacobs Jackson, age 73, of Tar Heel, NC died at her home on Monday, January 2, 2017. She was born in Robeson County, NC of January 19, 1943 to the late Ellis Jacobs and the late Lula Thompson Jacobs. She previously worked as a pre-school teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Leroy Jacobs and Ernest Jacobs.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by her husband, Doug Jackson of the home; a son, Jeff Jackson of Charleston, SC; a daughter, Mia Masella of Columbia, SC; brothers, Lynn Jacobs of High Point, Ellis Jacobs, Jr. of Lumberton, Billy Jacobs from High Point, and Jackie Jacobs of High Point; sisters Betty Lou Locklear of Rennert, Jannie Allen of Lumberton and Mary Lois Jackson of Red Springs; and two grandchildren, Mallory Masella and Franny Masella.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Chaplain David Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery. A time of visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.
