Mrs. Mary Grace Griffin Britt, age 89, of Lumberton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Woodhaven Nursing Center in Lumberton.  She was born in Robeson County, NC on March 23, 1933 to the late Les Griffin and the late Myrtle Oxendine Griffin.

Mrs. Britt loved cooking for her family, quilting, sewing and making all kinds of crafts.  She instilled in her children the difference between right and wrong.  She loved to dance and loved listening to music.  She was a wonderful mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend and she will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin Britt; her daughter, Mary Ann Hammond and her siblings, Leslie Griffin, Early Ray Griffin, Bobby Griffin and Maudie Elizabeth Hall.

She is survived by her children, William Leslie Britt (Sharon) of Lumberton, NC, Ricky Britt of Salisbury, NC, Susan Wood (Ray) of St. Pauls, NC, and Willis Britt, Michelle Britt, Melissa Johnson (Darrell), and Patrick Johnson, all of Lumberton; two brothers, William Marshall Griffin (Elizabeth) and James Ray Griffin; one sister, Retha Mae Stewart; 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5 ^th Street, Lumberton.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 11:00AM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Chris Jones and Rev. William Griffin officiating.  Burial will follow at New Point Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumberton.
