Mary Elizabeth Taylor Britt, age 84, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on Saturday, April 27, 1940, to the late Robert Wilton and Minnie Mae Deaver Taylor.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Billy French Britt, and grandson, Billy Davis Hayes.

Ms. Britt worked as a cook at Love and Care Daycare in Lumberton for many years. She loved fishing.

Ms. Britt is survived by one son, William Colon Britt (Wendy) of Lumberton, NC; two daughters, Leslee Smith (Phillip) and Rebecca Jean Britt (Larry), both of Lumberton, NC; nine grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren; and her brother and sister-in-law, J.D. and Etta Mae Taylor.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 5:00-6:30 PM at East Lumberton Church of God, 100 Dresden Avenue in Lumberton, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 2:30 PM at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC with Rev. Tim Lewis officiating.
