Mary Ellen Davis Blackburn, 72, of 6788 Singletary Church Road, died Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Duke Medical Center. She was born to the late Fred and Myrtle Prevatte Davis on June 4, 1936 in Robeson County.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby S. Blackburn of the home; 3 sons, Tony Bruce Blackburn of Petersburg, VA, Robert Stephen Blackburn of Petersburg, VA and David Archie Blackburn of Hopewell, VA; 1 daughter, Barbara Ellen Pope of Clarkton, NC; 3 brothers, William Duncan Davis of Lumberton, Buddy Davis of Lumberton and Jimmy Davis of Lumberton; 1 sister, Rosa Carnes of Lumberton; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Zion Hill Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. James Brust and Rev. Worth Gerald officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 8, 2008 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.
