Mrs. Mary Frances F. Byrd, 88, of Lumberton, left to go to her heavenly home Wednesday, March 4, 2009.

Mrs. Byrd was born November 11, 1920 to the late Rev. & Mrs. Henry A. Forester. She was a member of Chestnut Street United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Grady S. Byrd, her daughter Marilyn Frances Byrd and a brother Henry A. Forester, Jr.

Mrs. Byrd is survived by a son, Henry Brady Byrd and wife, Carol of Laurel Hill, NC.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Meadowbrook Cemetery with Rev. Steven Little and Rev. J.B. Loving officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday night, March 6, 2009 from 5-7 PM at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory in Lumberton, NC.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to either the Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800 or the Chestnut United Methodist Church, 200 E. 8th Street, Lumberton, NC 28358.

Mrs. Byrd was dearly loved by her son and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her but they take comfort in knowing she is at peace with her heavenly Father and they will see her again one day.
