Mary Jane Barnes, age 74, of Lumberton, died in her home on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. She was born July 16, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA to the late James Melbard Glovier & Edna Marie Glovier. She was a valued employee at Kmart for 12 years.

Mary Jane is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Barnes; her sister June Baker; and a grandson, John Barnes.

Mary Jane is survived by her brother, Jim Glovier, of Dallas TX; her children: Joe Barnes and wife Teresa of Lumberton, June B. Mangum of Fuquay-Varina, Karl Baker, Julie B. Wright, Ann Barnes & Robin Baker, all of Lumberton, and Christine Barnes Deese and husband Terry of Lumberton; her grandchildren: Amy Johnson of Denver, CO and Nate Davis of the home; her best friend, Terry Mayner; as well as 24 other grandchildren & 20 great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lumberton with Rev. Tony Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery.
