Mary Adcox Barefoot, age 72, of Lumberton, NC passed away at her residence on Thursday, June 18, 2015. She was born in New Hanover County, NC on May 31, 1943. She previously worked in the sewing department of Jasper Mills. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carston O'dell and Nettie Ruth Culler; and a son, Stephen Jay Newton. Mrs. Barefoot is survived by her husband, Arlen Barefoot of the home; children, William Douglas Newton (Kelly) of Sevierville, TN, Theresa N. Brooks (Harry) of Bakersville, William Ashley Barefoot of Lumberton, and Michelle Kivitt (Justin) of Sanford; brother, Clarence Adcox (Tina) of Ashboro; and nine grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Jenkins Family Cemetery with Rev. Mark Meadows officiating.
