Mr. Mark Shannon Britt, age 51, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC.

Mark Shannon Britt was a thoughtful and talented person who shared his gifts with those he knew and trusted. He had a zest for life and his easy-going personality will be missed.

He was born on October 18, 1972 to loving parents, Monnie Bodiford and Tommy Britt, Sr., leaving behind his beloved mother with whom he had a special relationship. You could find him enjoying her home cooking, checking in on her every morning, and going above and beyond for her in his free time. He also leaves behind a beloved stepfather, David Bodiford, whom he admired and respected.

Mark is also survived by his children: Courtney, Andre, and Jasmine, all of whom he loved greatly; his beloved grandchildren; his brother, Tommy Britt and wife Deanna Britt; a  special friend, Michelle Hardy Harrelson; and his animals: Roxie, Tyson, and Odessa.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Britt, Sr.; his grandparents, Belle Wilkins and Knox & Josephine Britt; and a special aunt, Ann Dowless.

Mark was taken too soon and, although he may be gone, he will never be forgotten.

There will be no services at this time as the family will celebrate his life with a private memorial upcoming.

May he rest in heavenly peace.
