Marjorie Parnell Rice, 91, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022. She was born in Robeson County, NC on July 11, 1931 to the late Herbert & Nettie Parnell.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge M. Rice; her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy & Johnnie Phillips; her grandson, Shannon Phillips; three brothers: Ernest Parnell, Horace Parnell, and Mickey Parnell; and her sister, Maxine Wimberley.

She is survived by her sons, Talmadge Carroll Rice (Debbie) of Virginia and Timothy D. Rice (Pat) of Lumberton, NC; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Tommy Parnell (Jackie) of Lumberton, NC; two sisters, Josephine Patterson of Lumberton, NC and Myrtle Smith of Virginia; and special caregivers, Danny & Karen and Nicole Stone.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 12:00-1:00 PM at Gardens of Faith Mausoleum, 5190 Fayetteville Road in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a service will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Broadwell officiating. Entombment will follow.
