Mrs. Marjorie Imogene "Jean" Dow Scott, age 83, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Monday, July 6, 2020. She was born in Robeson County, NC on March 4, 1937 to the late David Benjamin Dow and the late Flora Margaret Bacot Dow.

She graduated from Lumberton High School in 1956 and went on to become an English major at Flora McDonald Academy. She was also a Youth Director and Sunday School teacher at North Lumberton Baptist Church for many years. She was loved by so many and always welcomed children into her home at all times. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She gave her children a wonderful life and she will be greatly missed.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Everett Scott, and a brother, David "Randy" Dow.

She is survived by her children, James Shepard Scott and Kimberly Watts (Ivan); her grandchildren: William Ryan Pittman, Haley Nicole Pittman, and Ashton Ivan Watts; and her great-grandchildren: Storm Justin Brooks and Elijah Pittman.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at First Pentecostal Church of Lumberton with Rev. Anthony Rich officiating.
