Marjorie Rae Britt Edwards, age 71, of Lumberton, NC died on August 1, 2009 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on February 20, 1938 to John and Hessie Britt. Mrs. Edwards worked as a manager for One Hour Martinizing Cleaners.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Albert Edwards.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her son, Mike Edwards and special friend, Heike Tornow of Durham, NC; three daughters, Sandy Stevens, Nikki Davis and husband, Tim and Josephine Fowler, all of Lumberton, NC; one brother, J.C. Britt of Bladenboro, NC; six sisters, Margaret Deaver of Orrum, NC, Allene Johnson of Bladenboro, NC, Eunice Barr and Sueneil Taylor of Lumberton, NC, Linda Frances of Winston-Salem, NC and Melba Parker of Cerro Gordo, NC; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tony Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 3, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
