Marion Talitha Skinner Erath was called home November 8, 2014. Marion was born in Robeson County in Lumberton, North Carolina on October 7, 1930 to William Lyons Skinner and Marion Preston Hood Skinner. On February 16, 1952, she married George Snider Erath of Chicago, Illinois, who preceded her in death. Her two brothers, William Lyons Skinner, Jr. and Copeland Hood Skinner as well as one nephew, William Lyons Skinner III and one granddaughter, Ruth Helen Compton, also preceded her in death. Marion was blessed with both a daughter and a son who survive her: Marion Lynn Erath Compton and her husband, Robert Frank Compton, Jr of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and George Snider Erath II and his wife, Jamie Shipley Hall-Erath of Jamestown, North Carolina. Also surviving are 10 wonderful grandchildren and one great grandson. Memorial service will be held at Emerywood Baptist Church, High Point, NC 27282 on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 4:00pm. Visitation will precede this service from 2:30 to 3:45pm. Graveside service to be held at Meadowbrook Cemetery, Lumberton, NC 28358 on Saturday, November 15, 2014 2:00pm. Memorials may be sent to Children's Home Society of NC in Greensboro or Emerywood Baptist Church in High Point NC 27262.
