Marilyn Lucille Hunt, age 82, of Fairmont, NC went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 6, 2024 at her home.

Born on November 26, 1942, in Robeson County the last of 14 children born to the late Fred "Larce" Hunt and the late Lonnie Oxendine Hunt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Lee Jones; seven brothers, Cleveland, Hoarce, Pete, Ralph "Rat", Sanford "SJ", Billy, and Welton "Hobo" Hunt; six sisters, Margie Anne Hunt, Mary Collins, Maitland Hicks, Maggie Locklear, Martha Hunt, and Gerlene Jacobs.

Marilyn, being a daughter of a farmer, helped work the family farm for many years. She also worked at Fairmont Knitting Mill. She had a great love for her family and was an avid music lover and loved to make cassette tapes. She also loved doing word search puzzles and would often times go over to the old farm house, playing her gospel music loud enough for the neighbors to hear.

A fifth generation family, she is survived by a daughter, Vicky Rose Strickland (Hal) of Fairmont, NC; a son, Rickey Hunt (Lisha) of Fairmont, NC; five grandchildren, Sheila Renee Strickland of the home, Sheena Rainey (Howard), Richard Hunt, Morris Hunt and Latina Hunt all of Lumberton, NC; nine great-grandchildren, Jordan Dewayne Strickland (Taylor), Destiny Hunt (Jairius,"JT"), Landan Sampson, Noah and Joshua Rainey, Jacob, Koby, Trinity, and Elsie Elizabeth Hunt ; five great-great grandchildren, Kalaeh Raine Hunt, Xander Bryant Dewayne Strickland, Willow and Kye McNeill, and Jiraiya Hunt; a special niece whom she helped raise, Cookie Hunt of Fairmont, NC; her fur babies, Saint, Prada, and Sarge, and a great host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

A time of visitation will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 1:30-2:30 PM at Floyd Funeral Services, 1549 Marion Stage Road, Fairmont, NC. Funeral services will immediately follow in the chapel at 2:30 PM.

Burial will follow in Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 427 Gaddy Road, Fairmont, NC.
