Mrs. Marilyn Mae Britt, 61, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on November 17, 1959 to the late James Vester Britt and the late Lula Mae Windom.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Wayne Cox, and a sister, Judy Kizar.

She is survived by five sons: Archie Cox of Laurinburg, NC, Jimmy Cox and Hearl Cox, both of Lumberton, NC, and Eric Britt and James Randy "J.R." Britt, both of Chicago, IL; three daughters: Marilyn McDowell of Newton, NC, Miranda Dula and husband Tommy of Conover, NC, and Tiffany Hecker and husband Brad of Hickory, NC; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Vickie Britt of Fairmont, NC.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Eastwood Holiness Church, 1926 McPhail Road in Lumberton, NC, with Pastor Mark Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
