Mrs. Marie Ivey Carter of Fairmont, NC, was born May 21, 1932 in Robeson County, NC to the late Wesley Clark and the late Emma Clark and departed this life on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at her home, making her journey of 90 years, surrounded by her loving family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John David Carter; a son, Ernest Monroe Hunt; and a daughter, Cindy Marie Chavis.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children: Brenda Deese of Tennessee, Delois Chavis (Cleveland) of Fairmont, NC, Johnny Hunt (Darlene) of Lumberton, NC, Willa Hunt (N.A.) of Rowland, NC, Wendy Chavis of Fairmont, NC, Carolyn Hunt of the home, Peggy Clark (Roy) of Rowland, NC, and Lannie Brewington (Victor) of Lumberton, NC; 26 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, from 6:00-8:00PM at Floyd Funeral Services, 1549 Marion Stage Road in Fairmont, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at 2:30PM at Annease Drive Praise & Worship Center, 492 Annease Drive in Fairmont, NC. Burial will follow at Hickory Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 9578 US Hwy 301 South in Rowland, NC.
