Mrs. Marguerite Smith Lindsey, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013. She was born on July 5, 1929 in Fairmont, NC and was the daughter of Samuel Jefferson Smith and Mary Elizabeth McDaniel Smith. She was a graduate of Averett College and Meredith College. She was a member of Colonial Dames. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Carlton "Pete" Lindsey, Jr.; a daughter, Lisa Lindsey Hayes and a grandson, Mark Thomas Dyer. Marguerite is survived by her daughters, Laura Lindsey Dyer and husband, Brian of Atlanta, GA and Jane Carlton McNeill and husband, John of Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Sarah and Daniel Dyer, Lindsey Glover, Matthew Hayes and Katie and Rebecca McNeill. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, May 7, 2013 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Ruby Doub McMillian Fellowship Center of Wesley Pines Retirement Center, 1000 Wesley Pines Road, Lumberton, NC. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 11:00AM at the Ruby Doub McMillian Fellowship Center of Wesley Pines Retirement Center, 1000 Wesley Pines Road, Lumberton, NC with Dr. David Elks officiating.
