Mrs. Margie Cooke Taylor Tyson, 89, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022, at her home. She was born in Dillon County, SC on January 24, 1933 to the late Willie Lawson Cooke and the late Sallie Pridgen Cooke.

She worked for 45 years at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC, retiring as Director of Fiscal Services. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and gardening. But, most importantly, she was strong in her faith in God, studying the Bible daily and applying her daily devotionals to her everyday life.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Richard Tyson; her brothers: Aaron Willie Cooke, Gurnie Rue Cooke, and Grady Gilbert Cooke; and her sister, Sadie Cooke Spivey.

She is survived by her son, Joseph K. Taylor, Jr. of St. Pauls, NC; her daughter, Lori Taylor Lindsey and husband Rusty of Lumberton, NC; her grandchildren: Julie Lindsey Lamb and husband Brent and Trevor Lindsey and wife Ashley, both of Lumberton, NC, and Amber Taylor of St. Pauls, NC; her great-grandchildren: Laci, Olivia, and Lucas Lamb and Berkley Lindsey; and her sister, Susie Cooke Ford and husband Tracy of Lake View, SC.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, 5190 Fayetteville Road in Lumberton, NC, with Pastor Harold Cooke officiating.
