Margie Spivey, age 81, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Southeastern Health in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on January 12, 1935. Margie will be remembered for her years of employment at the Cooperative & Carolina warehouses and as secretary of NC Grange Mutual. She was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Lumberton and of the Senior Bridge Club of Lumberton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin J. & Annie Ruth Humphrey; her husband, Billy Upton Spivey; and 1 brother, Worth Humphrey.

She is survived by her children: Jerry Spivey and wife Kimberli of Raleigh, Cindy Spivey of Lumberton, Bryan Spivey and wife Jill of Asheboro, and Chuck Spivey and wife Debbie of Franklin, TN; 1 brother, Carl Humphrey and wife Beth of Wilmington; sister-in-law Carlie Humphrey of Lumberton; 7 grandchildren: Megan Spivey Turits and husband Ben of Durham, Charlie Spivey and fiancé  Camellia of Wilmington, Allison Spivey of Durham, and Dylan Spivey, Devin Spivey, Derek Spivey, & Darbi Ruth Spivey, all of Franklin, TN; 1 great-grandchild, Charles McNeill-Spivey of Wilmington; special friends: Margaret Wilson, Dot Cashwell, & Gail Pittman; and many nieces, nephews, friends, & family.

A time of visitation will take place prior to the service on Saturday, August 13, 2016, from 1:30-3:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

Following the visitation, a memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Dr. David Elks, Rev. Tim Little, & Dr. Wayne Tyner officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery.
