Margie R. Britt, age 94, of Carolina Beach, NC and formerly of Lumberton, NC passed on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove in Wilmington, NC. She was born on August 26, 1919 to the late Hugh Jordan Rozier and the late Hattie Jessie Phillips Rozier and was the youngest of six children. She graduated from Allenton High School as class salutatorian. On December 20, 1941 she married Corbett H. Britt in Dillon, SC. She worked at Littlefield High School cafeteria as an assistant manager where she retired May 24, 1983. She was a lifelong member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Britt is survived by two children, Corbett Huett Britt, Jr. and wife, Debbie and Gloria Strickland and husband, Bill; four grandchildren, Marshall Strickland, Christy Strickland Bobbitt, Jordan Britt, and Alexa Britt; four great-grandchildren, Jordan Strickland, Jenna Strickland, Hunter Bobbitt, and Emily Bobbitt. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Corbett H. Britt; siblings, Esper Miller, Robert P. Rozier, Faye Smith, Horace H. Rozier, and Hugh Jordan Rozier, Jr.. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014 from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM a Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Brown and Mr. Jason Fairfax. Burial will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.
