Ms. Margelene "Margie" McLauchlin, age 85, of Youngsville, NC, formerly of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Lumberton, NC on August 26, 1938 to the late John Allen & Lena Mae Smith McLauchlin.

Margie was an extremely devoted Christian and will be remembered as the most gentle, loving, and kindhearted person you would ever want to meet. She loved animals and loved people, doing anything she could to help anyone in any way.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael "Mike" Eugene Haney; her brothers-in-law, Deryl Prevatte and Jimmy Hardin; and two nephews, Kenneth Prevatte and Steven Hardin.

She is survived by her daughter, Ramona Branch and husband Thomas of Youngsville, NC; her son, Randall Speece of South Boston, VA; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Flora Mae Prevatte of Charlotte, NC and Sarah Louise Boege and husband David of Chadbourn, NC; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 12:00-1:30 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, 5190 N. Fayetteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
