Margie Marie Newnam Hattan, age 95, of Lumberton, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Lumberton Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 9, 1922 in Rockingham County to the late Tony Newnam and the late Hattie Goard Newnam. She was formerly employed with Fieldcrest Mills as a shipping & receiving clerk.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond deFriese Hattan; her son Tony deFriese Hattan; two brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Karon H. Brisson of the home, and her grandson, Jeffrey M. Bryan of Lumberton.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018, at 3:00 PM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton with Rev. David Ruth officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the graveside.
