Margaret McLellan Parnell, age 94, of Fairmont, N.C., passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Glenflora Nursing Facility in Lumberton, N.C.

Margaret was born on May 17, 1932, to the late Neil Archie McLellan and Pamela Etta McLellan.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Potter Parnell; her sisters, Juanita McDowell (George), Helen Rogers (W.B.), her brothers, Ira McLellan (Nina), Bruce McLellan (Wilma Gray), Danny McLellan (Ann).

She is survived by her daughters, Fran Bauguess (Roy), Gina Jackson (Terry), Margo Everette (Daryel); her grandchildren, Beth Niccoli (Dino), Wally Jackson (Jada), Maggie Vang (Cheng), Terran Baty (Michael), Will Everette (Sara); her great grandchildren, Noah Jackson, Liam Jackson, Mollee Vang, Kailani Baty, Emma Vang, Finlee Vang; and special nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Sarah Davis and Mrs. Annie Ruth Leggett for their faithful friendship with their mother.

Ms. Margaret enjoyed the years that she operated Town and Country Day Care in her home.  During this time, she appreciated the love of all the children and the friendships made with their parents.  These were always fond memories for her.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Floyd Funeral Services, Inc., 1549 Marion Stage Road, Fairmont, N.C.   Burial will follow at Floyd Memorial Cemetery, across from the funeral home.
