Mrs. Margaret Locklear Jones, age 80, of 412 Horne Camp Rd. Fairmont, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at her residence. She was born May 14, 1933 in Robeson County. Ms. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Locklear and Girlie Brooks Locklear; her husband, Sam Jones; two sons, Ronald Jones and Percell Jones. Ms. Jones is survived by six daughters, Catherine Oxendine of Fairmont, Gensey Lambert (Tracy) of Fairmont, Janice Locklear (Copeland Ray) of Dillon, SC, Lizzie Kerns (David Sandel) of Greensboro, NC, Elizabeth Oxendine (Tony Boyd) of Greensboro, NC and Barbara Jane Jones of Baltimore, MD; two sons, Hughes "Pap" Jones of Fairmont, NC and Jimmy Jones (Belinda) of Lumberton, NC; two sisters, Liza Wilkins of Red Springs, NC and Ellerey Locklear of Aberdeen, NC; one brother, Robert Bud Locklear of Raeford, NC; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-three great grand grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
