Margaret Johnson Ivey, formerly of Lumberton, passed away on January 23, 2022 in Raleigh, NC, where she had been living since 2012. Born in 1930 to Cleveland Johnson and his wife, Monie, she lived her life devoted to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Ivey, a son, Rick Ivey, and her parents, as well as all of her siblings: Esba Spivey, Ertle Johnson, Geneva Leggett, CJ Johnson, and Janet Leggett.

Left behind to cherish her memories are her daughters, Melonie Ivey and Debbie Taliani; her son, Lawrence Oliver and wife Janet; a grandson, Matthew Oliver (Kristie);  and a great-grandson, Waylynn Jordan Oliver.

She worked hard all of her life. Originally working on her family's farm, and later she worked at various plants in Lumberton, as well as maintaining her beautician's license for more than fifty years. Though she worked outside of the home for years, she also worked hard at home to care for her family. Much of her thoughts and efforts were for her family.
