Mrs. Margaret Blackburn Evans, age 95, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Woodhaven Nursing Center. She was born in Bladen County on January 19, 1919 to the late Addison & Mattie Blackburn. She was formerly employed as a sales clerk for Belk. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Rufus Evans, and a daughter, Eva Magnolia Evans. She is survived by a son, Bill Evans and wife, Aundrea, of Toccoa Falls, GA, two daughters, Betty Little and husband, Autrey, and Doris Kirkland, all of Lumberton, two sisters, Eldene Tessener, of Portsmith, VA, and Velma Edwards, of Bladenboro, NC, eleven grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, and forty great-great grandchildren.
