Mrs. Margaret Theresa Davis Owens, age 94, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Southeastern Health of Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on December 12, 1919 to the late Onnie and Nannie Davis. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard P. Owens, three brothers, Horace Davis, Percy Davis, and Clifton Davis, and one sister, Dovie Jackson. She is survived by two sons, Alton W. Owens, of the home, and Henry P. Owens and wife, Marilyn, of Stedman, three daughters, Peggy JoAnn Townsend and husband, Harold, Shirley Richardson and husband, Edward, all of Lumberton, and Wanda Bailey, of Baltimore, MD, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Margaret was a nursing assistant in the Labor & Delivery Unit of Southeastern Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed visiting the flea market and selling her flowers and soaps and she was a breast cancer survivor, as well.
