Ms. Margaret Williamson Barnes, age 87, of Orrum, NC passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024.

She was born April 27, 1937 in Columbus County, NC to the late Woodrow Williamson and the late Lula Edwards Williamson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Leamon Barnes; two brothers, Leroy Williamson and Clyde Williamson; four sisters, Elsie Butler, Frances Williamson, Marlene Meares, and Emma Bowen; a grandson, Justin Breedlove; a great grandson, Ryker Leggett; two sons-in-laws, Walt Breedlove and Joe Bregman.

She enjoyed her career in the textile industry working at Munsingwear. In her retirement years, she continued to enjoy sewing. She loved baking and was well known in the community for her delicious cakes and pies. She liked shopping and had a great sense of style. She was the quickest witted woman in Orrum. You'd never leave her house without a laugh and smile. She loved spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grands.

She is survived by one son, Tommy Barnes (Sherry) of Bladenboro, NC; four daughters, Sandra Breedlove and Wanda Parrish (Randy) both of West Columbia, SC, Tammy Lanning (Mark) of Brevard, NC and Dena Bregman of Pinnacle, NC; eight grandchildren, Jaime (Ken), Ashley (Ryan), Corbin, Corinne, Michael, Gracie (Kyle)., Mason, and Ryan (Stephanie); eight great-grandchildren, Chase, Gabe, Reid, Abel, Kodi, Addie, Walter, and Henry and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Cynthia Locklear for the wonderful care she provided for our mother and grandmother.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services, Inc., 1549 Marion Stage Road, Fairmont, NC. Funeral services will immediately follow in the chapel at 2:00 PM.

Burial will follow in Floyd Memorial Cemetery across from the funeral home.
