Malisa Carol Capps, 56, of Lumberton, passed away at 8:30AM on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family.  She was born in Lumberton, NC to Stonie Buddy Britt, Sr. and the late Carol Sue Britt.  She was married to Robert Capps.

Her mother, Carol Britt, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter, Marissa; sister, Marilyn Britt; her father, Stonie and Doris Britt; and a nephew, Zachary Williams.

Malisa was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. Malisa graduated from Pembroke State University in 1994 then began her lifelong career at a probation officer at the North Carolina Department of Corrections.  She retired on July 1, 2022.

Malisa enjoyed spending her time at the beach, with her family and at church.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at 2:00PM at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC, led by Pastor Mike Bowen.
