Mrs. Maggie Hunt Locklear, 96, of Lumberton, NC, was born on April 10, 1927 to the late Larse & Lonnie Oxendine Hunt. She departed this life on Mother's Day 2023, Sunday, May 14, 2023. She had celebrated 74 Mother's Days and 96 years of life altogether before her departure. In January 1949, she was married to Zack Locklear. Affectionately known as "Mrs. Maggie", to know her was to love her; a sentiment shared by all who encountered her kindness and generosity.

She was employed by Leviner's Florist for nearly 30 years and was said to have a green thumb because of her ability to make things grow. She was an amazing cook and an immaculate homemaker. It was always a delight to dine at her table.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Shelby Jane, and a granddaughter, Stephanie.

She is survived by three daughters: Janice, Jacquelyn, and Judy, all of Lumberton, NC, and 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM.
