Magalene Nye Hardin, age 85, passed away at her residence on Thursday, June 18, 2015. She was born in Robeson County on December 10, 1929 to the late Mort Britt and the late Annie Cox Britt. She previously worked as a quality inspector for clothing manufacturing. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert Lenwood Nye; daughter, Linda Nye; great-granddaughter, Noelle Hester; stepson, Jeff Hardin; and a step-granddaughter, Kristie Hardin. Mrs. Hardin is survived by her husband, Lester Blanton Hardin of the home; a daughter, Brenda Nye Smith (Alfred) of Lumberton; a son, Jeffrey Arnold Nye (Bonnie) of Lumberton; grandchildren, Mike Thorndyke, Vanessa Singletary, Wanda Hester (David), April Stone (Jeff), Kellie Nye, Jeffrey Nye, and Amber Nye, all of Lumberton; great-grandchildren, Greyson Singletary, Annagrace Singletary, D.J. Hester, Teddy Hester, Jeffrey Stone, Lexi Stone, Noah Stone, and Taylor Stone; and special niece, Gail Bullard (Ronnie) of Lumberton. She is also survived by a stepson, Mike Hardin (Jane); stepdaughter, Wanda Smith (Robin); stepdaughter-in-law, Ann Hardin; and step-grandchildren, Lauren Morse (David), Brian Hardin (Sara), Tracy Stancil (Chad), Angela Williamson (Tommy), and David Hardin; and step-great-grandchildren, Emma Williamson, Keeton Williamson, Nichole Stancil, and Dustin Stancil. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton. The funeral service will be on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joe Bounds officiating. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Faith mausoleum.
