Maerena ??Rena? Currin Thompson, age 90, of Lumberton, NC died on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the home of her niece in Johns Island, SC. She was born in Granville County, NC on September 8, 1922 to the late William B. Currin and the late Jessie Fipps. She was a longtime member of Long Branch Baptist Church and worked as a bookkeeper for BB& T for thirty eight years.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, G. Earl Thompson. Mrs. Thompson is survived by several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the Gardens of Faith Mausoleum with Pastor Jeff Broadwell officiating. A time of visitation will be held after the service at the mausoleum.
