Maebell Richardson, age 93, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Harborview Nursing Facility in Lumberton, NC following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born in Columbus County, NC on July 27, 1930 to the late William Andrew Wilson & Martha Carolina Fowler.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Furman Richardson; her brothers: Javie, Rozer, Grover, and Herbert Wilson; her sisters: Bertha Coleman and Alma Dale Grey; her daughters, Phyllis Wilkerson and Patricia Lane Lewis; and her son, Jimmy Ray Richardson.

She is survived by her sons, Furman Dale Richardson and wife Robin and Edward James Richardson and wife Shirley; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Ivey Richardson; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She and Furman lived on and raised 5 children on Whiteville Avenue in Lumberton, NC. She was a longtime member of East Lumberton Baptist Church. She loved her church and she enjoyed being an active member. After their children were grown, they retired and lived near Ocean Isle Beach for a few years, but returned home to finish out their years together in the home they loved, where their family grew up.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 1:00 PM at East Lumberton Baptist Church, 201 Old Whiteville Avenue in Lumberton, NC, with Pastor Mike Bowen officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, 5190 N. Fayetteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
